PU Foam Dressing

PU Foam Dressing

PU Foam Dressing is composed of polyurethane foam, and for some variant adhesive border, or perforated silicone wound contact layer. The product is a porous super soft pad and is comfortable for patients. PU Foam is capable of absorption of abundant wound exudates with fast speed, providing moisture environment for wound healing.

Product Family

There are three variants in PU Foam family:

  • Foam/Film laminate
  • Bordered adhesive
  • Bordered Silicone

The perforated silicone wound contact layer is flexible and adhesive offering mild adhesion to the skin to reduce pain in dressing changing.

Process

PU Foam is made through reactions of polyols and isocyanates. Firstly, Prepolymer are generated through the mixture of Polyol, isocyanate and other components. Then, mixture is stirredat a very high-speed stirrer under a certain temperature for foaming an curing.

How does PU Foam Dressing work?

PU Foam is hydrophilic and is capable of absorbing large amount of exudates. The film laminated on the foam is water resistance and breathability. The product also works as a bacterial barrier. The product is permeable allowing the passage of oxygen to improve the wound healing.
