Child labour and underage labour
Recruiting child workers under the age of 18 is strictly prohibited at UMT. Under no circumstance we will employ anyone under 18 years of age. All staff at UMT are treated fairly and equally regardless of their ages, gender, and race.
Forced labour and human trafficking
We never use forced labour, labour for debt payment, indentured labour, or prison labour. All our staff are recruited through an open and fair recruitment process.
The working hours for all office and production staff follow the national and local laws/regulations. The staff salary meets the national and local requirement on minimum wages. The company never detain identity documents (such as ID card or passport) of employee or part of their wages, benefits, property, or documents to force them to work, and never ask employee to pay any fees as a part of the conditions of employment.
Employees shall have freedom of movement, including their right to leave the workplace and to suspend their employment without any punishment upon reasonable notice to the Company.
We resolutely prevent participation in or support for human trafficking.
Health and safety
We provide a safe, healthy working environment, and take effective actions, minimize or eliminate potential hazards in the work environment where possible to avoid health hazards either at work or arising from work-related accidents. We should assess all risks outside the work activities of pregnant or lactating mothers in the workplace and ensure that reasonable measures are taken to eliminate or reduce their health and safety risks.
We provide proper personal protection for our employees. When employees are injured at work, we provide first aid and assist workers in obtaining subsequent medical treatment. We identify and evaluate risks, formulate risk control measures, conduct regular training for each post. We provide adequate resources in staff training to constantly improve their work skills and health and safety awareness.
We believe that a safe and healthy working environment is crucial for employee health and morale and productivity improvement.

Discrimination, punishment, and harassment
We believe that all people deserve dignity and respect, and we will never accept any discrimination against employees based on cultural, race, sex, skin colour, religion, gender, status of pregnancy, sexual orientation, disability, political stance, social background, or any personal characteristics that do not affect the ability to work. Moreover, we prohibit any kind of punishment or harassment of employees based on the above factors. We do not allow any corporal punishment, mental or physical coercion, verbal insults and physical or psychological abuse.
Environmental considerations are an integral part of our business practice. We commit to reduce the negative environmental impact of our operations as much as possible, including appropriate waste management and disposal, protection of waterways, resources and energy, and proper control of atmospheric emissions. We comply with all national and local the laws and regulations on environmental protection. In addition, we actively mitigate all environmental impacts, set targets to reduce waste, reduce the consumption of water, energy, and materials, and regularly assess the progress of these works. We also encourage employees and sub-contractors to continuously explore new ways to improve efficiency and reduce their environmental impact.
