Foshan United Medical Technologies Ltd (UMT) is pleased to announce that one of patent applications has been reviewed and approved by the CNIPA (China National Intellectual Property Administration).
The granted patent (patent number: ZL202110113416.4, Grant Ref CN112870088B) disclosed a face mask designed for moisturizing skin using carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) nonwoven fabric and a special formulated essence containing metal ions. The combination of carboxymethyl cellulose fabric and the metal ions turns the fabric into a gelling material providing prolonged moisture and protection to the skin.
By regulating the content of metal ions in the mask essence, an optimum performance of the face mask can be achieved for a variety of skin conditions.

The granted patent was developed after many years of research. The technology was based on UMT’s CMC gelling wound dressing technology but has extended it’s application into the cosmetic area. This has opened another door for UMT to expend outside the woundcare market.
The cosmetic market has potential to allow UMT to enjoy rapid growth in the next 5-10 years.
